American Idol Announces Season Nine Finalists

We're gonna ignore American Idol viewers' disastrous decision to send Lilly Scott home instead of Paige Miles, and simpy focus on the list of 12 season nine finalists.

There's a big drop off in talent after the first four listed below, but this season's final dozen are:

Chad Ochocinco Lands VH1 Dating Show

Who needs to train in the offseason?

Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is competing on the latest season of Dancing with the Stars and has lined up a VH1 dating show. Seriously!

Titled The Tournament, it will feature women from across the country, all competing for the heart of the man formerly known as Chad Johnson.

The series is a mix of Ocho Cinco’s on-field charisma blended with the drama of the dating pool played out in a bracket-style dating tournament. The 10 episode, one-hour series is set to premiere in July 2010.

The Tournament will start with Ocho Cinco finding his “first 85″ by traveling all over the country meeting women that may be interested in dating him.

“Chad Ocho Cinco is one of the most electrifying individuals in sports today. His bigger than life personality on and off the field and his notorious skills as a social networker, connecting daily with his fans, makes him a perfect fit for VH1,” said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production, VH1. “This show will not only give viewers a look inside his professional life, but also reveal his softer more romantic side when playing a very different kind of game.”

Yes, Crystal Bowersox put on another great American Idol performance. The electric guitar looked like it belongs in her hands.

But for the first time, we're awarding the top rendition of the evening to another female: Siobhan Magnus.

Brooke Burke Tapped as New Dancing With the Stars Co-Host

She won season seven, and now she's coming back for good:

Brooke Burke has been named the new co-host on Dancing with the Stars. She'll replace Samantha Harris and be in charge of backstage interviews, while also appearing on the main stage with Tom Bergeron.

“She’ll be able to talk to the couples backstage with the perspective of having been there herself,” says Bergeron, who made the announcement today on Good Morning America.

Burke has previously hosted shows such as Wild On, Rock Star: INXS and Rock Star: Supernova.

She'll speak to season 10 contestants Kate Gosselin, Jake Pavelka and others when episodes start to air on March 22.

Crystal Bowersox: American Idol Favorite

Two weeks into the season nine semifinals, a favorite has emerged on American Idol.

Sure, Casey James is handsome. And Lilly Scott is unique.

But, after this week's performance, Crystal Bowersox is the one to beat. Watch her wow the judges with a rendition of a classic single below:

Casey James, Electric Guitar Stand Out on American Idol

There weren't many reasons to be excited on this week's American Idol male performance show.

We'd vote out at least four contestants from the bunch if we could.

But at least Casey James stood out for a reason other than Kara's awkward jokes about his hotness: the rocker broke out an electric guitar! Sure, the judges might say this is a singing competition, but such a move should help James separate himself from the rest of the mediocre crop of contestants.

Jake Pavelka Proposes to Vienna Girardi, Cast on Dancing with the Stars

It was a busy Monday night for Jake Pavelka.

The latest ABC-sponsored celebrity love seeker chose Vienna Girardi over Tenley Molzahn on the season finale of The Bachelor, much to the chagrin of most viewers. He then proposed to her and referred to her as his "baby" on the After the Rose special.

Excuse us while we vomit.

From there, it was announced that Jake would actually participate on the new season of Dancing with the Stars. Hopefully, this casting puts an end to anyone's idea that The Bachelor is about love instead of ratings.

Bethenny Frankel Dishes on Pregnancy, Cravings

Bethenny Frankel is knocked up.

With the reality star's show premiering its third season this week, the Real Housewife of New York City spoke to People about the recent, major changes in her life. A few excerpts:

On the pregnancy: We haven’t really figured out what we are doing about the baby’s room. We are both clueless. My fiancé, Jason Hoppy, has been looking at cribs, saying, “We have to get the baby’s room in order now.” I’m like, “Relax, we have [time].”

On cravings: I am not drinking alcohol or that much coffee but I’m craving orange juice. And split pea soup — it is like somebody else eating hot fudge. I could die over it. I had a moment a few days ago with a corn beef sandwich. It was like food porn. I was enjoying it so much that it should have been illegal.

On the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City: It was a really crazy season... Being pregnant and emotional it was impossible. There are a lot of things turned upside down. Alliances have changed and friendships have had some tests. Not everything is the same as it was last season.

Four Semifinalists Cut from American Idol

Phew.

While we disagreed with pretty much all four of the cuts made this week on American Idol, at least our early favorites - Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox and Andrew Garcia - were safe.

The same can't be said for the following contestants, all of whom lasted just one week into the semifinalis:

Casey James is Hot... and Talented!

After hearing for days how a woman would win this season of American Idol, the men got a chance to perform live last night and prove Simon Cowell wrong.

Most of them failed.

With the exception of Casey James and Andrew Garcia, no male really stood out. And even these two crooners didn't bring their A-games... not that the judges even noticed for James. They were too busy cracking jokes about Kara's crush on him.

It was funny for a second, and then it was grating and inappropriate. Watch his rendition of Bryan Adams' "Heaven" below:
